The Mission and Purpose of this guide is to bring Consciousness, Beauty and Respect to the Rite of Passage for Girls as they Blossom into Womanhood.

Parenting bridges birth and youth, youth and adulthood – as women we become Auntie, Mom, Mother, Grandmother, Tutu, Sister, Daughter; as men we become Uncle, Papa, Dad, Father, Grandfather, Opapi, Brother, Son. Mentoring and counseling while living our example with awareness and acknowledgement of the cycles, blossoms gratitude in all experiences. May this journal become a record of cycles that build customs and ritual for all seasons, and a memory book as deepening friendships, family relationships and community grow.

In support of collecting cyclical information and sharing stories of the seasons, the book is broken into five main sections with journal chapters in-between. The first four chapters, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, are where our young maidens can write about the stories they learn from those that share with them around these times of the year. As the seasons turn, a record can be made of physical changes that occur as the body transforms into adulthood, the shifts observed in oneself and in others around us. How do relationships and responsibilities grow? What emotional fluctuations happen within our friendships? How do different times of the day, month, or year affect our sense of well-being?

The Ritual chapter collects the ideas and recollections of when our blossoming youth first celebrates and experiences her first moon cycle. Most of the journal space is provided in this section as stories from other wise women can be included and information found can be collected and kept to reflect upon for making this monthly time a personal, deep, meaningful, and accepted part of our lives.
